Brace yourself, here come an angry rant.
A) brown water stains. B) brown spit
My iron is doing me head in! The reason why my ironing board looks like **** is because my iron continues to puke brown-ish crap. Just look at the photo, there are small pieces of I-don’t-even-know-what-that-is all over the place. And what’s worse it that one of these days I swear, that thing is gonna spit all over my wedding dress and I will end up crying in a corner.
I’m having a hard time believing that I’m mistreating it in some way. I mean, it’s an iron, not a space rocket. So if you’ve got any ideas, I’m all ears!

Sometimes it helps to clean out the filter. If I don’t do that with my iron for a long time it spits brown too :-)

Filter? Where? I don’t think mine’s got a filter? I think it’s supposed to clean itself :S

Ohh… okay well mine has a water reservoir (so that it also produces steam) and that water reservoir needs to be cleaned from time to time. If it isn’t, it will produce ‘rust’ or water with a high ‘chalk’ level. (don’t know how you should call it, haha)

Finally, I found a hidden magic stick! Upon removal, the water floods out of the water reservoir :) Until now, I’ve just been pushing the steam-button like a mad man. I’m so happy that it took care of the cleaning problem but the root cause remains. A friend told me that her iron never spits like mine does. I think I’m gonna head over to the petrol station on my way home tomorrow to get some distilled water.

aha, perhaps I should start removing the left-over-water. And I’m gonna try using distilled water. But that means I gotta buy a shitload of water :S

Hehe, yeah I thought you’d like it. I’ve thought about making my own water but it just seems like such a hazzle. I’m gonna have to buy it instead. The only problem then is to carry it home but I guess i could always send Martin out on a quest to get me some :D
