Today’s progress report is all about making the skirt and attaching the invisible zipper. The skirt is made using french seams to get a neat finish on both sides. Before attaching it to the “corset”, I pressed on some lining just to prevent the fabric from fraying. I must say that it works like a charm.

I’m very happy with the outcome of the invisible zipper – especially on the wrong side (oddly enough). Lucky me just had enough bias binding tape left to finish of the edges with it. Gaah, it looks so good I feel compelled to wear it inside out :D

Haha, idd! Jag har sytt ett andra lager i sidenchiffon men jag tycker fortfarande att den e lite genomskinlig. Tror att det behövs ett tredje lager men jag kan inte riktigt komma fram till om jag ska drapera på det eller om jag ska sy ytterligare en kjol (börjar bli lite lätt trött på det nu). Jag ska nog börja med att drapera överdelen så får jag se hur det blir med det tredje lagret.

wow nicole very very nice to bad you soon to be hubby can see this as well, i bet his jaw would have hit the ground wen he had seen you in that the first time :) keep going almost done (slacker you mist youre own deadline :P )

Hehe, yeah that’s too bad. Idd I did! I started draping the top yesterday so hopefully I’ll have it ready in the weekend.
